About
A spark of practical hope for parents who've been Googling at midnight.
The Spark Parent exists because the help UK parents need is usually buried in jargon, waiting lists and forums — and you deserve better.

Hi, I'm so glad you found us.
The Spark Parent started in a kitchen in the UK, fuelled by lukewarm tea and a folder full of NHS letters. When my own child's speech took a different path, I learned how hard it is to find clear, kind, parent-shaped help.
So I started writing the guides I wished I'd had — about late talkers, ADHD school meetings, autism assessments, sensory needs, and the small daily things that actually help a household feel calmer.
Today, The Spark Parent is a growing library of articles, courses and a podcast for UK families navigating speech delay, autism, ADHD and the wider SEND world.
What we believe
Four things you'll feel in everything we make.
Parent-first
Everything is written for tired parents reading on a phone at 11pm — not for clinicians.
UK-rooted
We focus on the NHS, EHCPs, SENDIAS, IPSEA and the realities of UK schools.
Strengths-based
Neurodivergence isn't a problem to fix. It's a way of being to understand and support.
Honest about hard days
We talk openly about overwhelm, guilt and the wins that look tiny from the outside.
A note
We're educational — not a replacement for medical advice.
Always talk to your GP, health visitor or specialist about your child's individual needs. The Spark Parent helps you feel more confident, prepared and less alone in those conversations.
